About me:
Hi! I`m The Norwegian Girl, the writer of this blog. I`m a student of English Literature and General Linguistics BA, from which I graduate by summer 2013, so that I can continue following my dream to become the best English teacher ever!I also have a dream of becoming a translator.
- Being a student means that I`ve had to live on a tight budget for several years, but it wasn`t until 2011 that I really learned what it means to follow one and how to make the most of it. I`m always in search of some new, inspiring ways to save money and make the most of what I`ve got.
- I have a chronic condition called Fibromyalgia.
- I love listening to Taylor Swift, while making something fabulous in the kitchen, either it`d be chocolate chip cookies, french macaroons, or superhealthy bread. If it just happens to be a friday night I`d love a glass of white wine along with that.
- Travelling is something I feel born to do. I`ve been to Finland, England, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, France, Andorra, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Denmark. I`ve also lived in the Canary Islands.
- I love dogs. Particularly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, as I used to have one. Sadly, dogs don`t live as long as humans. I still find it so unfair that these wonderful creatures who are totally devoted to us humans aren`t given the opportunity to follow us through life. Instead we follow them through theirs.
- One of the main purposes of writing this blog is also for me to get more comfortable with writing in English, both in everyday writing and academic writing.
Your English is great!!!
Thank you! I do feel pretty confident in my language skills, but it`s nice to have this blog so that writing English each day makes me move more and more towards perfection.
A wonderful idea!
That would be so neat to be a translator. My French isn’t quite at that level yet 😛 Hopefully soon!
I have this dream of translating English books to Norwegian, and last year I discovered that my Uni offers a Master in Translation, but unfortunately admissions are only every other year, so I`ll have to wait until 2014:-(
That’s okay! More time to focus on travel in the meantime 😛
Great blog!!!!
aw, thank you so much!
My mom wants to get one of those dogs. I think that’s the dog Charlotte had in Sex and the City.
She should definitely get a cavalier king charles spaniel!! They`re so easy to train, they´re tougher than most people think (they`re freakishly strong), they can go walking for hours, or just a little walk around the corner, i.e they`re very convenient family dogs:-) I have 16 years experience with this breed, and I can reccommend it with all my heart:-)
And YES, you`re right, it`s exactly the one Charlotte has. 😀
If I may say so, you write well 🙂 Also, I love your header. It is beautiful, did you paint it?
Thank you so much! I always appreciate compliments on my writing, considering it`s not my native language.
the header? oh I only wish I had the talent. No, I used this photo editing program, PicMonkey, to make it!
Great to read the page about yourself. I love how you write that you have dreams and that you want to follow them =) My post today is about : how my dreams came true…. sounds great what you are dreaming of! Go for it!
Recently came across your blog and just wanted to say it’s great! I visited Sweden this summer and stopped in Norway for the day – I wish I could’ve stayed a little longer to see more.
Keep up the great work and consider me a new follower 🙂
